K&N Cold Air Intake — Roto-Mold HDPE, Enclosed Airbox

Let the 5.0 breathe. This K&N intake uses a high-density, roto-molded HDPE tube and an enclosed airbox to feed cooler, denser air—delivering a verified +15.07 hp and +19.66 lb-ft with no tune required. The oversized, oiled High-Flow LIFETIME Air Filter™ is washable/reusable, so you’re not buying paper filters again. Under normal highway use, you can run up to 100,000 miles between cleanings. Sound? A deeper growl on throttle, quiet at cruise.

built to howl, tuned to win.

Why It Hits

  • Real, repeatable gains — dyno-proven +15.07 hp / +19.66 lb-ft without touching the ECU.

  • Cooler, cleaner air — enclosed airbox shields intake charge from engine-bay heat.

  • HDPE flow tube — smooth interior, larger volume, consistent IATs.

  • Reusable for life — six-layer cotton media + K&N oil; service instead of replace.

  • Driveability first — stronger tip-in and pull, quiets down at speed.

Basic Install Overview

Bolt-on job with hand tools. A lift isn’t required. Allow ~60 minutes.

  1. Prep

    • Park cool, disconnect battery negative.

    • Identify all kit parts; pre-assemble the filter into the airbox if applicable.

  2. Remove Stock Intake

    • Unplug MAF/air-temp sensor and any breather/EVAP lines.

    • Loosen clamps, remove factory air tube, airbox, and filter.

  3. Fit Heat Shield/Airbox

    • Drop the enclosed airbox/heat shield into factory location.

    • Use supplied grommets/brackets; snug hardware (don’t fully tighten yet).

  4. Install Intake Tube

    • Transfer MAF/sensor to the new tube (arrow toward airflow).

    • Slide couplers on throttle body and airbox outlet; seat the tube.

    • Reconnect breather/EVAP lines with supplied fittings.

  5. Filter & Final Tighten

    • Install the High-Flow filter inside the box; ensure full sealing.

    • Align everything for clearance; tighten clamps/bolts to spec.

    • Reconnect the sensor harness and battery negative.

  6. Start-Up Check

    • Start engine, verify no air leaks, no CEL.

    • Take a short drive; re-check clamp torque after a heat cycle.

Service Tip: Inspect the filter periodically. Clean and re-oil per K&N’s instructions—don’t over-oil the media.
