Basic Install Overview (High Level)

Recommended for experienced builders or pro shops. You’re doing an engine+trans swap: plan mounts, driveline angles, clutch hydraulics, and fuel/exhaust.

  1. Plan & Mock-Up

    • Verify fitment: oil pan clearance, steering, header/exhaust routing, trans tunnel, driveshaft length, crossmember.

    • Source engine mounts/adapters and a shifter to match your chassis.

  2. Chassis Prep

    • Upgrade fuel system for EFI (high-pressure pump, return/returnless per controls pack).

    • Confirm cooling capacity (radiator, fan control, hose routing).

    • Prep clutch hydraulics or cable per bellhousing/fork requirements.

  3. Mount the Drivetrain

    • Install pilot bearing, bolt flywheel/clutch (align tool), mount bellhousing.

    • Mate the TREMEC to the Coyote; set in the bay with proper mounts.

    • Set pinion angle/driveline alignment; measure/build driveshaft.

  4. Controls Pack & Wiring

    • Mount PCM, route main harness, connect sensors/injectors/DBW pedal per kit map.

    • Provide clean power/grounds; integrate ignition/run/start circuits.

  5. Front Drive & Exhaust

    • Fit alternator kit, accessory belt.

    • Install RH 409SS manifold; select LH/header solution per chassis; finish Y-pipe/cats as required.

  6. Fluids & First Start

    • Fill engine/trans fluids; prime oiling system.

    • Key-on checks (fuel pressure, leaks, throttle sweep).

    • First start, idle learn, check trims/temps. Address leaks/clearances.

  7. Road Test & Finalize

    • Heat-cycle and re-torque fasteners.

    • Dial in shifter position, clutch engagement, and fan strategy.

    • If modifying beyond stock, tune the PCM accordingly.
